This book, which is volume 1 of a two-volume set, introduces engineering and related field students to the fundamentals of predictive control for one-input, one-output dynamic systems.
Predictive control is one of the most widely used control methodologies in the process industry, being, after PID, the most widespread strategy and the one with the highest user satisfaction. Controle preditivo baseado em modelo takes a theoretical and practical approach, focusing on the development of classical predictive control theory, but also presents implementation aspects and case studies from the industrial environment. To this end, several real-life cases are used to motivate and support the control methodologies and their respective mathematical developments. The book covers the DMC ( Dynamic Matrix Control ) controller and the GPC ( Generalized Predictive Control ) controller, and also has a chapter covering the practical aspects of predictive controllers. The book includes the codes for the controllers studied, which are available on their own website.
In addition, a supplemental set of MATLAB code files is available for download.
