This book, Volume 2 of a two-volume set, introduces students of engineering and related fields to advanced topics in predictive control, with applications to multivariable and nonlinear systems. It also covers optimization algorithms for controller implementation.
Predictive control is one of the most widely used control methodologies in the process industry, being, after PID, the most widespread strategy and one that provides the greatest user satisfaction. The goal is a theoretical-practical approach, focusing on the development of advanced predictive control theories and addressing implementation aspects, with case studies drawn from industrial environments and based on real-life situations.
Controle preditivo baseado em modelo explores both linear predictive controllers and some nonlinear algorithms, all voltages for multivariable systems. Optimization algorithms are also presented, allowing for optimal control performance across the different algorithms studied. This is accompanied by the controller codes, available online.
