MATLAB and Simulink Seminars

Ensuring System Stability and Security for Large-Scale Power Systems

Overview

Join this webinar to hear an overview of how system-level control challenges can be addressed for large-scale power systems. With the influx of distributed inverter-based resources (IBRs) driven by power electronics, stability concerns have increased for the grid and cybersecurity concerns have risen as well. Additionally, with sources driven by renewable energy, uncertainty has also increased.

In this session, we will provide an overview of how control and estimation techniques can be used to mitigate stability concerns and test safety/cybersecurity.

Highlights

  • Assessing impedance impact of IBRs and grid stability
  • Validating parameters of deployed IBR systems using measurements
  • Designing grid-forming and grid-following controls
  • Detecting attacks in distributed generation
