MATLAB

  • Feedback – Use the feedback button in the toolstrip to provide feedback on MATLAB, including the new desktop.
  • Themes – Use a light or dark theme to change colors for the MATLAB desktop, figures, and apps.
  • Coding and Software Development Panels – Use new side panels for high-frequency coding and software development tasks: Debugger, Project, Source Control, Test Browser, Code Issues, and Code Outline.
  • Figure Container – Manage figures and tools within a single container; tile, resize, and group figures interactively; customize and annotate figures using the toolstrip.
  • Desktop Search – Use desktop search to directly launch apps, access settings, and search help, examples, and MATLAB Answers.
  • Variables Editor – View sparklines and summary statistics for data in tables or timetables; create linked plots synchronized with workspace variables.
  • Live Editor File Format – Save live scripts using a plain text file format to support integration with source control systems.
  • Accessibility – Use a screen reader to interact with the Command Window, navigate the desktop, and create and edit MATLAB code files.

Simulink

  • Layout-as-You-Go – Straighten signal lines while moving or resizing blocks.
  • New UI for MATLAB Projects – View and analyze projects in a simplified, more compact interface around source control, dependency analysis, and model comparison.
  • Local Solvers for Model References – Improve simulation speed and accuracy by setting an independent variable or fixed-step solvers in referenced models.
  • Fast Restart for Rapid Accelerator – Run multiple rapid accelerator simulations faster with fast restart.
  • Python Code Block – Bring Python® code into Simulink.
