Integrating Measured Data with Simulations for Automated Model Calibration
As a part of ensuring power system reliability through accurate system simulation, math models of generating stations are periodically recalibrated through comparison with field test data. This is not a trivial task, and the time and cost associated with manually performing such verification can be significant.
The introduction of synchrophasor technology provides an additional layer of insight into system operation. Synchrophasor measurements provide several benefits for enhancing a model calibration effort, including:
• Additional high accuracy measurements for comparison against simulation
• Reduced model complexity, and hence simulation time, by allowing model components to be replaced with a data-driven component
• Model verification of online phenomena that may not be captured with offline field testing
In this webinar we demonstrate how you can use MATLAB and Simulink to automate the process of model calibration, thereby significantly reducing the resource required to perform these tasks.
