CAN protocol
R2026bCAN communication protocol selection
Since R2026b
Model Configuration Pane: Hardware Implementation / Hardware board settings / Target hardware resources / Groups / CAN
Description
Specify the CAN communication protocol used by the interface. This parameter determines how the interface transmits and receives CAN messages and defines the underlying communication behavior.
Dependencies
To enable this parameter, set Interface configuration to
Specify via Simulink. To enable this parameter for additional
interfaces, set Number of interfaces to a value greater than or equal
to the interface number.
Settings
Classical CAN (default) | CAN FDSelect the CAN protocol for this interface.
Classical CAN(default)Use Classical CAN 2.0 protocol. The interface is configured with a single bit rate (Bus speed) and supports data frames up to 8 bytes. The generated code uses
ip link set can0 type can bitrate 500000.CAN FDUse CAN FD protocol. The interface is configured with a nominal bitrate (arbitration phase) and a data bitrate (data phase), and supports data frames up to 64 bytes. The generated code uses
ip link set can0 type can bitrate 500000 dbitrate 2000000 fd on.
