I cant edit the textboxes in app designer. how do i fix this?

I cant edit the textboxes in app designer. Its interactivity is set to editable, but when i run the app, i cannot change the value in textarea or editfields.

i tried one of the exmple apps, and it doesnt let me edit those text boxes as well. I have no idea whats going on.

Im using R2021a academic on Ubuntu 18.04.

If so, these are the workarounds that I tend to use:

Once you place the cursor, clicking on the titlebar of the window (and not moving the mouse!) may allow keyboard focus.

Once you place the cursor, switching workspaces via the keyboard may allow keyboard focus.

Afaik, this behavior is still current in most desktop environments. Enjoy this newfound frustration.

Thanks for the answers. Funny thing is, i opened it without having my second monitor connected and it worked fine. im not sure whats wrong tho. but it was a fix
