MATLAB error when closing files in Editor

When I am done working on a script/m.file open in the Matlab editor, I click the "x" to close it and Matlab generates an error in the command window:
"Caught MathWorks::System::FatalException"
This happens for each file I close via the Editor window.
>> version
ans =
8.3.0.532 (R2014a)
$ uname -a
Linux abc@def.ghi 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jun 13 18:24:36 EDT 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
$ cat /etc/*-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.3 (Santiago)
