why matlab does not give accurate results at lower sampling frequency?

I have been trying to simulate a pwm inverter model at low sampling and switching frequency as this is how I want to implement digitally also. The sampling frequency which we input in powergui block ,what exactly it means. How this sampling frequency can be interpreted when i implement the control simulated into dsp. Please suggest
