English is not my born language, it's Portuguse, so pardon me for the mistakes.

Hello, I received a license number automatically when I created an account using the email provided by my university, but i wounder how long does the license last. I don't know if it will last until i finish my degree, or until the parthnership between my university and Mathworks end, or for a year.

Term: Annual

tells you that this is a one year license.

Hello, I'm sorry for disturbing, but i got the follow text on my MATLAB when i opened it today early:

Your MATLAB license will expire in 9 days.

Please contact your system administrator or

MathWorks to renew this license.

---------------------------------------------------- "

I tried to renew the license, by downloading a new one on the Licente Center of my own account and follow with the necessary steps to activate it, but it dosen't work, at least when i close and opened it again after updating the license. How i said on the original question i just got this license automatically when i created a accont with my university e-mail (University of Sao Paulo/Universidade de São Paulo) that have the "@usp.br".

My question is: Why this? and if it's possible to renew or get a new license to still using MATLAB, preferably free
