How to change only the subsequent variables?

I know that if I change the name of a variable, I can apply the change to all others of the same name by hitting shift+Enter.

Is there a similar shortcut but that would only change the variables in the lines following the one I am doing the change on?

No. You'd have to use control-H and basically replace or skip them one at a time.
