AUTOSAR4.Signal vs AUTOSAR.Signal

4 次查看(过去 30 天)
Hi,
Could someone explain the difference and benefits between using the class AUTOSAR.Signal and an AUTOSAR4.Signal for modelling a measurable signal?
What is the benefit of being able to specify the MemorySection directly (Autosar4.Signal) vs selecting the appropriate SwAddrMethod for an Autosar.Signal?
More specifically I am interested in if there are any potential gains possible in memory consumption between the two classes?
Thank you

Hi Andreas,
That is a good question. Some time ago I had a meeting with a MATLAB consultant and I asked him the same. He said that this is also not clear even between the development team inside Mathworks.
In theory, you should use AUTOSAR4.Signal if you are working with AUTOSAR 4.x version (latest version for Classic Platform is 4.6.0 R20-11 - https://www.autosar.org/fileadmin/user_upload/standards/classic/20-11/AUTOSAR_TR_ClassicPlatformReleaseOverview.pdf). But I do not see any difference between them in the code or ARXMLs generated.
I see some differences in usage between AUTOSAR.Parameter and AUTOSAR4.Parameter, but I think that is not related to your question.

I find the information with respect to autosar a bit scarce so thank you for your repsonse.
Yes nothing beats testing it yourself.
No not specifically in this case but I am curious what differences you found if you have the time to elaborate?
