C compiler on Matlab 2016a and MacOs Catalina

Dear Matlab users,
I am trying to install a C compiler for Matlab 2016a, running on MacOs Catalina 10.15.3. One of the problems is that Matlab 2016a supports Xcode 7, however this older version cannot be installed on Catalina. Are there workarounds to solve this issue?
