Description

SAGA 32+/64+ is a 32 or 64 channel amplifier for electrophysiological measurements such as EEG or HD EMG. The SAGA consists of two separable parts: a Data Recorder and Docking Station.

The Data Recorder contains the amplifier that measures the electrophysiological signals from your brain, muscles, heart, or any other bio-electrical source. It can connect to the SAGA Docking Station in three ways: docked to each other, via Wi-Fi, or via optical fiber. Use the Data Recorder without the Docking Station in ambulatory mode for home monitoring or outdoor use. (Note: Ambulatory functionality is not currently supported in the SAGA Interface for MATLAB.)

The SAGA electrophysiological data acquisition system uses a Windows device driver to read data from the system in a computer. The TMSi SAGA interface for MATLAB is a library that interfaces the SAGA Device Driver (DLL) to MATLAB. This interface allows you to acquire data, write, and read .poly5 files via MATLAB and/or export data to EEGLAB.

The interface consists of various MATLAB scripts and objects that handle the connectivity, data acquisition, data plotting, and configuration settings. You can use the examples to get familiar with the working principle. The examples show how the functions are used together and are self-explanatory for the typical experienced MATLAB user. It is recommended to have Signal Processing Toolbox installed as this enables you to do (online) post-processing on the acquired data.

The SAGA Interface for MATLAB supports the SAGA 32+ and SAGA 64+ systems and is available as a free download on the TMSi site.

Support for other TMSi Amplifiers (Refa, Porti, Mobita, and Mobi)

A similar interface is available for older TMSi amplifiers: Refa Extended, Refa, Porti, Mobita, Mobi, and Mobi-Mini .This TMSi Interface for MATLAB is also available as a free download on the TMSi site.

Twente Medical Systems International (TMSi) specializes in developing high-precision multi-channel amplifiers, data acquisition, and communication solutions, first and foremost for electro-physiological applications. The company uses unique amplifier technology, especially suited for use in "hostile" measurement environments, such as very noisy surroundings, in demanding ambulatory applications with potential movement artifacts or in cases with very poor electrode impedances.
