Discover What's New

Take an early look at R2025a with the prerelease.

Major Updates

  • Antenna Toolbox – Improve the functionality of AI Antenna to support scalar port and field analyses, leveraging AI Antenna to calculate the maximum radiation using the peakRadiation function, and optimize antennas using the AI-based SADEA API.
  • MATLAB Coder – Generate code with the new MATLAB Coder app and improve code performance through automatic parallelization.
  • Phased Array System Toolbox – Model RIS with controllable array elements, perform bistatic localization using new TOA/TDOA position estimations, and design high-fidelity RF impairment models with cascaded components.
  • Radar Toolbox – Explore new parallelizable workflows for cooperative and non-cooperative simulation of bistatic and multistatic radars.
  • Sensor Fusion and Tracking Toolbox – Import and visualize tracking truth data using the Tracking Data Importer app, and simplify multi-object tracker tuning with truth data and standard specifications for targets and sensors.

Release Highlights

MATLAB

  • MATLAB Desktop: Use customizable sidebars in the new desktop layout to access tools in panels and change the desktop layout.
  • Themes: Change the colors of the MATLAB desktop and create graphics, apps, and custom UI components by selecting a dark or light theme.
  • Figure Container: Manage figures and tools within a single container with options to tile, resize, and group figures interactively, and customize and annotate figures using the toolstrip.
  • Live Editor File Format: Save live scripts using plain text file format.
  • Live Editor Videos: Add online YouTube videos and local videos to your live scripts.
  • Variables Editor: View sparklines and summary statistics for data in a table or timetable, and create linked plots synchronized with workspace variables.
  • Accessibility: Use a screen reader to interact with the Command window, navigate the desktop, and create and edit MATLAB code files.

Simulink

  • New Simulink Scope: View signal data with an improved UI and multithreaded performance, connect with the Simulation Data Inspector, and dock multiple scopes together.
  • Layout-as-You-Go: Automatically straighten signal lines when moving or resizing blocks.
  • New UI for MATLAB Projects: View and analyze projects in a simplified, more compact interface around source control, dependency analysis, and model comparison.
  • Local Solvers for Model References: Improve simulation speed and accuracy by setting an independent variable or fixed-step solvers in referenced models.
  • Fast Restart for Rapid Accelerator: Run multiple rapid accelerator simulations without recompiling the model.
