Addressing Regulatory Modeling Standards with Automated Parameter Estimation of Generation Equipment Models
As a part of ensuring power system reliability through accurate system simulation, math models of generating stations are periodically re-validated through comparison with field test data. This is a non-trivial task, and the time and cost associated with manually performing such verification can be significant.
In this webinar, MathWorks engineers will demonstrate how MATLAB and Simulink can be used to automate the process of parameter estimation and model validation thereby significantly reducing the resource required to perform these tasks. The powerful optimization algorithms built in the tool provide a fast and reliable method to assist in the verification and validation process. The demonstration will cover the complete process of identifying generator and exciter model parameters using representative data obtained through load rejection and voltage step tests on the units.
Who should attend:
This webinar is for engineers across various power generation facilities whose focus is on dynamic model validation of power plant equipment such as generators, exciters, AVRs, and/or governors. Familiarity with MATLAB and/or Simulink is not required.
