Description

Add-On Required: This feature requires the Simscape Acoustics add-on.

The MEMS Speaker Electromechanical Converter block provides an interface between the electrical and mechanical translational domains using piezoelectric transduction. The block converts between electrical energy and mechanical energy in the form of translational motion. The following equations describe the converter:

F=φ⋅Vu=1φI

where:

  • F is the force (N) flowing through the mechanical ports.

  • V is the voltage (V) across the electrical ports.

  • u is the velocity (m/s) across the mechanical ports.

  • I is the current (A) flowing through the electrical ports.

  • φ is the piezoelectric transduction factor (N/V).

The conserving electrical ports + and - correspond to the positive and negative terminals of the converter, respectively. R and C are the conserving mechanical translational ports.
