    Description

    Add-On Required: This feature requires the 3D Scenarios add-on.

    An Asset object contains the 3D model and metadata for an Actor object. You can access an asset by querying the Asset property of the Actor object.

    Creation

    When you create an actor by using the car or aircraft function, the function automatically creates an asset and stores the asset in the Asset property of the Actor object.

    Actors created using the actor do not have assets.

    This property is read-only.

    Asset name, represented as one of these options:

    • "sedan" — The actor was created using the car function. The actor includes a 3D model of a car.

    • "narrowbody" — The actor was created using the aircraft function. The actor includes a 3D model of an aircraft.

    This property is read-only.

    Points of interest for the asset, represented as a ReferencePoints object. A ReferencePoints object maps the points of interest to locations on the 3D model. You can access reference points by indexing, by using the keys function, or by using the isKey function.

    The available reference points depend on the Name property of the asset.

    • When Name is "sedan", the available reference points are:

      • "centroid"

      • "rearaxle-ground"

      • "frontaxle-ground"

      • "frontbumper"

      • "frontbumper-left"

      • "frontbumper-right"

      • "rearbumper"

      • "rearbumper-left"

      • "rearbumper-right"

      • "rearviewmirror"

      • "sideviewmirror-left"

      • "sideviewmirror-right"

      • "roof"

      • "asset-origin" — The origin of the 3D model for the actor, defined as [0 0 0]. All other reference points are defined with respect to "asset-origin".

    • When Name is "narrowbody", the available reference points are:

      • "centroid"

      • "rearaxle-ground"

      • "nosecone"

      • "rudder-top"

      • "fuselage-top"

      • "fuselage-bottom"

      • "asset-origin" — The origin of the 3D model for the actor, defined as [0 0 0]. All other reference points are defined with respect to "asset-origin".

    This property is read-only.

    Axes convention, represented as "flu", which indicates forward-left-up (FLU). The axes convention defines the order of the axes used for the reference point coordinates. For more information about axes conventions, see Specify Coordinate Conventions for 3D Scenarios.

    Tips

    Querying the 3D model of the asset is not supported.
