GLONASS Navigation Data (RINEX v3)

R2026b

This table shows the format of the GLONASS navigation data field GLONASS for RINEX version 3 returned in the output argument data from the rinexread function.

If the navigation data contains GLONASS data, it is returned in the field data.GLONASS.

StatusFlags double

Status flags of the navigation message, stored as an integer representing a 9-bit bitmask:

  • Bits 7–8 (M) — GLONASS satellite type indicator:

    • 00 — GLONASS (GLO).

    • 01 — GLONASS‑M or GLONASS‑K.

    • Other values reserved.

  • Bit 6 (P4) — Data update indicator (GLONASS‑M/K only):

    • 1 — data updated.

    • 0 — data not updated.

    ,

  • Bit 5 (P3) — Number of satellites in current-frame almanac:

    • 0 — 4 satellites

    • 1 — 5 satellites

  • Bit 4 (P2) — Time-interval parity indicator:

    • 0 — even interval.

    • 1 — odd interval.

  • Bits 2–3 (P1) — Update and validity interval:

    • 00 — 0 minutes

    • 01 — 30 minutes

    • 10 — 45 minutes

    • 11 — 60 minutes.

  • Bits 0–1 (P) — Time-offset parameter source (GLONASS‑M/K only), indicating the source of time offset parameters tc and tGPS:

    • 00 — both from ground

    • 01 — tc from ground, tGPS onboard,

    • 10 — tc onboard, tGPS from ground,

    • 11 — both onboard.

GroupDelay double L1/L2 group delay difference (s)
URAI double Index indicating predicted user range accuracy for signal‑in‑space errors.
HealthFlags double

Health status flags for the navigation message, stored as a decimal integer representing a 3‑bit bitmask:

  • Bit 2 (l(3)) — GLONASS‑M/K only: health bit of string 3.

  • Bit 1 (AC) — Almanac health is reported in the ephemerides record. A value of 1 indicates that the almanac health information is reported, while a value of 0 indicates that it is not reported.

  • Bit 0 (C) — Almanac health status flag. A value of 1 indicates that the almanac data is healthy, while a value of 0 indicates that it is not healthy.

Note: The Health field (ephemeris Bn) uses 0 = healthy, while HealthFlags bit C (almanac Cn) uses 1 = healthy. The two fields use opposite polarity conventions, consistent with the GLONASS ICD.
