Install Software Component Designer for Simulink Support Package

You need the Software Component Designer for Simulink® support package to use the Software Component Designer app in Simulink. It provides a model-based workflow for designing software components for service-oriented architectures (SOA), where you can develop, validate, and deploy software components independently before integrating them into larger systems.

To install the support package:

  1. Open the Add-On Explorer using one of these methods:

    • In the MATLAB® toolstrip, on the Home tab, in the Environment section, click Add-Ons and then select Explore Add-ons.

    • In the Simulink toolstrip, on the Apps tab, in the Environment section, click Get Add-Ons and then select Get Add-ons.

  2. In the Add-On Explorer, find and click the Software Component Designer for Simulink Support Package, and click Add.
