Record and Play Animations
You can record animations of Simulink® 3D Animation™ virtual worlds that Simulink or MATLAB® control. Record simulations using either the Simulink 3D Animation Viewer or the MATLAB interface. You can then play back the animations offline. For a summary of animation recording options, see Animation Recording.

Topics
- Animation Recording
Record animations of virtual scenes that the Simulink or MATLAB product controls.
- Define File Name Tokens
Use file name tokens to create varying file names for frame capture or animation files.
- File Name Tokens
Explore the file name tokens that you can use to create varying file names for frame capture or animation files.
- Record Offline Animations
Record animations of virtual scenes that the Simulink and MATLAB products control.
- Manual 3-D Recording with MATLAB
Record a 3-D animation manually using the MATLAB interface for a virtual world that is associated with a Simulink model.
- Manual 2-D AVI Recording with MATLAB
Record a 2-D animation manually using the MATLAB interface for a virtual world that is associated with a Simulink model.
- Scheduled 3-D Recording with MATLAB
Schedule the recording of a 3-D animation using the MATLAB interface for a virtual world that is associated with a Simulink model.
- Scheduled 2-D AVI Recording with MATLAB
Schedule the recording of a 2-D animation using the MATLAB interface for a virtual world that is associated with a Simulink model.
- Record Animations for Unconnected Virtual Worlds
Record animation files programmatically for virtual worlds that are not associated with Simulink models (in other words, from the MATLAB interface).
- Play Animation Files
View virtual world animation files.
- Play Animations with Simulink 3D Animation Viewer
Play virtual world animation files with the Simulink 3D Animation Viewer.
- View a Virtual World in Stereoscopic Vision
View a virtual world using 3D effects, so that elements in the virtual world appear to come forward or back from the plane of the monitor.
- Listen to Sound in a Virtual World
If a virtual world contains a
Sound
node and your computer supports sound, then you can listen to the sound using Simulink 3D Animation components.
