Caution: if you start swapping to disk, your system will likely get very slow. Unless you don't mind waiting around 2 hours in between clicks or typing characters, it would not be at all uncommon to end up rebooting the system due to not being able to get its attention to stop running the MATLAB session that is tying up memory.
