Motion detection in video

I want to only keep those frames of a video which contain motion, save these frames in a certain location and then combine them into a movie
Is it possible to do so using arrays? Or is there a better method
Someone please help

You could estimate the motion from one frame to another using block matching . Then keep those which are relevant.
