Is this Matlab example wrong? DVBS2 encoding/decoding

I am having trouble replicating MATLAB's BCH encoding in this example:

openExample('comm/DVBS2WithLDPCExample','supportingFile','configureDVBS2Demo.m')

I am trying to replace the function "bchEncOut = encbch(bbFrameTx);" by my own script.

I was successful in encoding and decoding the bits with my own BCH, but the remainder (parity) bits that I obtain after encoding DO NOT match MATLAB's bits. I cannot figure out where the differences are, as I cannot peek into MATLAB's BCH function. I am even using the same generation pattern they use.

The BCH encoding details can be found in ETSI EN 302 307-1 --- DVB-S2 Part 1, pg 23-24.
