Is there a way to revise the code inside the embedded function?

actually, I want to use the regionprops function to calculate the major/minor axis length.

But I can't use the original algorithm since it is not suitable for me.

I tried to revise the code a bit but It popped up It is a Read only file etc.

besides, I have copied the whole function and rename it. But it certainly can't function well. something crashed.

If you copy a function and get crash this should be a sign of that the call is wrong. If you have not edited the function it should work.
