Matlab GA GUI freezes continuously

Hello,
I am using genetic algorithms with Matlab 2013b with parallel support. Unfortunately the GUI management is really poor. Every graphical window that opens during the optimization freezes, it does not refresh (so if I open a new window in front of it I lost the content of the window for hours), slows down MATLAB when moved/resized. I have a hard time when I even just try to move them around the screen.
Is there anything I can try to solve these annoying problems?

Hi Salaheddin,
thanks for the reply! I'll give it a try. Previously I tried with a 'drawnow' command inside a function that is called very often (the fitness function), but this did not the trick.
Hope that your solution will be more effective!
