Remove gray regions from imfuse with falsecolor method

Hi,
I've been trying all several methods available, although, it seems that 'imfuse' with 'falsecolor' method is the only one working for me. I'm not an advance matlab user though.
I wonder, whether it is possible to eliminate completely the Gray regions in the composite image, which as we know, they show where the two images have the same intensities.
I also wonder if there is away to change the colour bands. It seems really limiting the colours we can get.
(I'm trying to interpret the difference between two matlab figures, created from plotting some data, so I've a lot of lines and points).
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP PROVIDED
