How can I change the default settings of simulink scope. I understand individual scope style (background/line,axes,logging defaults) can be updated manually. I'd like to make these settings default, so that I do not need to enter the same settings several times in future designs.

This functionality is not available in latest release of MATLAB R2014b. There are couple of workarounds I can think of:

You can write a script, which finds all the scopes in the model, and changes the settings which you want programmatically
Can create your own library with the customized scope and then use it in future. Please refer to the following documentation: http://www.mathworks.com/help/simulink/ug/creating-block-libraries.html
