Despite going to default, the layout is not the default, and I have to switch between different screens

I used to have a nice layout, with the command window, the variables and the editor all in one screen. Despite going to default layout, I get seperate screens and I have to constantly switch between screens. How can I get back to what it used to be?

@John Hey - try redocking the editor by pressing the arrow in the far right corner of the editor and selecting Dock Editor.
