Customize MATLAB front end

After years using MATLAB, I recently updated to R2014b which employs a significantly modified front end (GUI) which is more mouse oriented than before. Where do I find tips for cutomizing it? How, for example, can I prevent the Command History pop-up from popping up?

For the Command History, check the Command History item under the Layout icon in the Environment section of the Home tab. The Command History item has three options: docked, popup, or closed.
