Include an excel file when creating standalone application

I have written a code to be a standalone application. this code reads some of its inputs from an excel file with a certain template. I want to include an example excel file as the template of the input file. and then place a push button on my GUI and when the user clicks that push button, the excel file is being downloaded from within my application.
Is it possible? any other alternatives for distributing my template input file within my software?
