If there is a known self-discharge rate, e.g., 1% self discharge per month, the self discharge current [A] can then be estimated from self discharged capacity [Ah] (the nominal capacity [Ah] multiplied by 1%) and the number of hours within a month. The self discharge resistance can then be estimated from this self discharge current and the average voltage, R_{sd} = V_{avg} / I_{sd}.
