How Can I click with the mouse on a subplot?

Hello, I need to be able to click on one out of four subplot in a figure, then I want to save the response. I know the function ginput will give me the output of the x and y coordinate of the mouse, but these coordinates refer to the coordinates respect to the all figure not to the subplot. So, even if I check in these coordinates are within the range of each subplot, it will always telling me YES, even though is not true! Thanks in advance! Fed
