Is a Matlab License transferable between computers with different operating systems?

For example, if I buy a Matlab license and install it on a Mac, can I afterwards deactivate that license and install it on a PC? Thanks!

Yes, provided that you do not have it simultaneously activated on more systems than your license permits. If you are using a Student license you might need to deactivate it on the old system before you can activate it on the new one.
Mathworks places limits on how often you can change the system (basically to prevent someone from buying a license and sharing it around.) I do not recall the limits at the moment, but you should be able to change at least every 6 months.

The limit is that you may not change systems more than 4 times per year.

The likely reason why the community is reluctant to anser those questions is that many of them depend on the license type you have purchased or are about to purchase.

No, I think it is just because the information is buried in the fine print rather than being easily accessible. It isn't even in the Student and Home FAQ, if you manage to find that.
