How to change the label properties on geoxes?

Hello,
I am simply trying to edit the font name and size of the axes of my geoscatter plot. xlabel and ylabel are not working.
How do I work around this? Thanks
Error using xlabel
Using xlabel with geoaxes is not supported.

Ran in:
ax = geoaxes();
ax.LongitudeLabel.String = 'Lon.';
ax.LatitudeLabel.String = 'Lat.';
ax.LongitudeLabel.FontSize = 20;
ax.LatitudeLabel.FontName = 'FixedWidth';
