- If you can carry the usb devices to your home, then please connect it to your personal laptop. Run things there only. Use some software to share screen of personal laptop on institute laptop and keep working in labs.
- If you can’t take the device home, check if the device allows remote connection. If yes, then connect to the device in lab on your personal computer.
- You can try connecting your personal laptop to institute network via VPN. By doing, this you can access devices connected to your institute laptop on your personal laptop too.

Hi
Background:
I developed matlab programs to control some devices by .dll, but they only work on my personal laptop but not on institute laptop due to some security limitation which the IT guy and I cannot solve. No more effort into making the programs work on institute laptop because it takes too much time and might not even work out. The institute allows using personal laptop but I just dont want to carry it to lab frequently.
So,
I want to put institute laptop A with usb devices plugged in in the lab, while I can somehow connect it to my personal laptop B at home and control the devices using matlab that is installed on laptop B (since only matlab on laptop B can control these devices). I have and can have matlab, python or any other possible softwares installed on instittue laptop. Or I can even buy a wifi usb port if that actually exists and works. Any method?
Thanks
