Matlab installer warning.

elsewhere, the matlab team has posted this:
As of R2021b, the MathWorks Installer will provide a warning message if you attempt to reinstall products that are already installed. The MathWorks Installer will not automatically uninstall and reinstall software.
My question, then, is what about those of us moving to a new OS installation and needing to reinstall MATLAB in order to have appropriate registry entries installed? I don't care if you overwrite the files that are there - I don't care about the time it takes - I just want the installer to DO ITS JOB and perform the installation. Why is there no option to essentially say "yes, I know this - continue anyway because I know what I'm doing"??
I should point out that I cannot uninstall matlab as normal because Windows doesn't see it as installed. So now I'm deleting the directory manually. But I would prefer to just have the installer re-install to save me some time.

By "elsewhere" do you mean in the MathWorks Support Team post "Why do I receive "Products Already Installed" when installing MATLAB or additional toolboxes?"?
I recently updated my machine from Windows 10 to Windows 11. None of my MATLAB installations seem to have had any problems with the registry after performing this OS update. Can you say more about the specific problems / errors you're experiencing (and which OS versions are involved?) Or is this more a future-looking question trying to avoid problems or errors when you will update later?
How did you perform the task of "moving to a new OS installation" if not using the operating system's update capabilities?
