How to plot colorbar in matlab?

Hi,
I am interested to see the colorbar of a column vector, for example: A(6x1)=[1;2;0.01;4;5;6]. Can you please give me some idea how can I do it?

a=[1:6];
b=[2 3 4 2 1 3];
bar(a,b)

You should use filled contour plot with legend. Check contourf() and clegendm()
