No, MATLAB/Simulink cannot directly run the 'xrun' command from Cadence.
However, if you wish to integrate Simulink models with Cadence tools which use the 'xrun' command for running mixed signal simulations in the context of HDLs then you can perform co-simulation with the HDL Verifier which provides the support for Cadence Xcelium or Incisive.
For more information on how to run a Simulink co-simulation session, refer to the following documentation links:

As far as I know, HDL Cosimulation with Cadence uses only a multi-step mode which requires xmvlog/vmvhdl, xmelab and xmsim.
Thanks for your answer!
Then, HDL Verifier doesn't offer simulation with using xrun.

I have noticed 'xrun' running in the background while using Cadence Xcelium. Since they have provided co-simulation support for Cadence Xcelium and Incisive, simulation using 'xrun' should be possible with the HDL Verifier.
