Design view doesn't match how the actual app looks like

I'm trying to design an app with the MATLAB App Designer and I'm falling at the first hurdle - laying out the components. I tried setting their positions and sizes manually and that didn't work, so I decided to go with something simpler and use the grid layout instead. Here's how some components look like in Design view:
And here's how the actual app looks like:
For some reason the buttons and edit fields got stretched out and are now interfering with each other and the "Drop Down"/"Edit Field" labels have moved. Does anyone know how to make my app actually look the way it looks in Design view?

I tried this in R2024b and i don't see any issues with the stretching of fields. Can you share the .MLAPP files you were working on?

This is a known issue in MATLAB versions R2024a and R2024b. You can find more information about this issue in the bug report at: https://www.mathworks.com/support/bugreports/details/3339274.
Additionally, there is a detailed step-by-step workaround provided in a MATLAB Answer post, which you can access here: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/2153895-app-designer-app-window-not-fully-displayed-on-transition-to-2024a#answer_1521085.
