HDL Workflow advisor co-simulation to custom board, freerunning mode

Is there some way how to get custom Zynq board to freerunning mode with co-simulation? I do have now ZedBoard which runs co-simulation at freerunning mode. This board runs Mathworks own Linux from support packages. The hardware/code is generated with HDL Workflow advisor.
I would like to transfer this project to Trenz Electronic TE0715 Zynq board. Is there some modifications which should be done to this custom board linux system? It's using Xilinx Petalinux.
Or is there some easier way to do communication betweeen Simulink and Zynq hardware?

I understand that you want to use custom Zynq board in freerunning mode with co-simulation. Or in other words, use FPGA in loop. In that case, to register your custom board, you can follow the instructions in the "Custom FPGA Board Definition" documentation page. To access this page, use the following command in MATLAB:
>> web(fullfile(docroot, 'hdlverifier/custom-fpga-board-definition.html'))
