Hello,
I tried to start parpool. But it fails. The following is the results I got from parallel profile manager:

It looks like your system is running out of memory while trying to launch that many workers. How much RAM do you have on your system?

I retest this morning. it pass spmd test but fail at Parallel pool test (parpool) Here is the log: Error Report:(none) Debug Log:(none)

Thanks a lot.
It should not be. My system has 512G memory. I just opened 32 coree and each core has 16G memory.

Hm, perhaps there's a limit on the number of processes your system is letting you launch. What does
$ ulimit -a
show?

Was this problem ever solved? I am having the same problem with nearly identical error text on MATLAB 2015b (java.lang.OutOfMemoryError in distcomp_evaluate_filetask)?
Like Xiaochun, I have a large amount of available memory (160 GB) and I'm only starting 16 workers.
Here is ulimit -a output:
