Matlab/Simulink for BEST keeps experiencing internal error and has to be shut down? What is the fix?

I have matlab up and running. When I open up our previous programming and make any change after just a few minutes, there is an error box that comes up stating an internal error has occurred and Matlab must be shut down. Thankfully it autosaves what I have been working on, but it is very frustrating everytime there is a change it shuts down. Does anyone have a fix for this or can tell me what might be going on. Just a note, we have never had such a hard time downloading a program before.
