Just a little example with imshow
scrsz = get(0,'screensize');
imshow('peppers.png');
set(gcf,'position',scrsz);
Or may be :
scrsz = get(gcf,'position');
set(gca,'unit','pixel','position',[0 0 scrsz(3) scrsz(4)]);
imshow('peppers.png');
