Smoothing Jagged Black & White Handwritten Text Image

I was convert my image become Black & White by using im2bw.

The result is very jaggy like this :

While from other paper's result is very smooth like this :

Is this account of my small tip's pen?

Did we need a big tip's pen for handwritting?

The paper did not convert to binary. They are using a gray scale image, which will look smoother.

To get rid of jaggies in a binary image, you need to use a higher resolution image matrix, for example 2048x2048 instead of 480x640.
