Notch filter - bandwidth vs distance of pole to zero

Hello,
I understand that for a notch filter, the closer the pole is to the zero (same angle), the narrower it gets and that the location of the pole is determined by the desired bandwidth (and vice versa). May I know if there is any equation / proof establishing the relationship between the two ? Can someone point me to a website or a paper that shows this ?
