Video histogram

I'm trying to plot an histogram of a video file that will show me on X coordinate which frame it is, on Y the gray level and on Z the number of pixels. any idea how to do it ?

Do you have the Statistics Toolbox? I think the hist3() function will do what you want.
If you don't, I there are some files in the File Exchange that will do 3-dimensional histograms.
