How to extract the white region alone from black background?

Can anybody help me with the matlab code. I have been trying a lot but still not able to extract it.

I don't know what that means. What is your definition of "extract"? Do you mean like crop your image into smaller rectangles by using regionprops() to find bounding boxes of all the separate white regions and then using imcrop() to crop them into separate images?
