Change the width or color of the mouse pointer when using Editor (OSX)?

Like many people, I prefer to use a dark page background when writing/editing code (i.e. m files). I also find it handy to use the MATLAB Editor. But I have a problem seeing the mouse pointer in Editor windows, because, when moved to an Editor window, the pointer shape changes from the standard thick black arrow, to a very thin, gray, vertical bar, shaped like the capital letter I.
With that default color and width, the pointer is very difficult to see against a dark background. This is a problem for a wide range of background colors and shades. Is it possible to change/set either the width or color (or both) of the pointer that is used by the MATLAB Editor?
Note, I am referring to the mouse/trackpad pointer, not the white vertical bar that marks the location of the text cursor (i.e. not where new text is entered). Also, this is for the Editor, not figures.
Thank you,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I've researched this issue and it seems like MATLAB does not have any way of achieving this with any preference or setting. However, you might be able to achieve the desired affect by changing the mouse settings in OSX's "System Preferences" menu (System Preferences > Accessibility > Display).
I'll let you know if I find other solutions.
Best,
Kristian

I have the same issue as that Mike have posted in the year of 2012. I also have tried the option that Kristian suggested. However, I found that Apple seems does not provide much effective method on this.
Is there anyone know that, as several years past, has MATLAB made any improvement to achieve this please?
