i just found other solution for that, you need open your code open with notpad++ and it will show you all other language comments
NOTE; i will not work with simple notepad ,,, so you need Notepad++

The solution steps in the following link may be a helpful place to start: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/262114-why-i-can-not-read-comments-in-chinese-in-my-mfile

I also got the same problem with the R2017b.
All Chinese comments cannot be displayed correctly but question marks. I try the method below to sort it out but failed. Because when I open the file lcdata.xml, I cannot find the part which the answer writer want me to change. https://cn.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/280988-how-do-i-get-my-matlab-editor-to-read-utf-8-characters-utf-8-characters-in-blank-squares-in-editors
Does someone know how to fix it? Thks
